There is much splendour to be found.

The earth is spinning and there are no signs of letting up.

Today I went to see my surgeon, for the regular post-op check-up and received very joyous news. It is nice when progress is measured by the professionals.
I'm only thirteen days post-surgery and already I was given permission (a full week earlier than expected) to start full weight-bearing and even walking on my newly fixed-up leg. I'm also right on schedule as far as movement goes and he wants me to be able to get on a bike within a few days. This is quite liberating and terrifying all at once. I've done some walking laps around my living room with the splint off and as determined as I am, the pain level is pretty uncomfortable. My Doc says, "Pain is not a barrier that you can stop at. It's not a guide-line telling you when you're doing enough anymore... You simply have to push past it." He's a funny, old man who wears wooden, platformed clogs and makes silly, doctor jokes that don't exactly hold any sort of humour for the layman.
My dear, dear, frightened body.
I've been given a bright, new passion for regaining my strength and my world is new again.

Today is a very good day.
.lovely.
