Yesterday, whilst making attempts to study and not fall into a deep slumber due to the lack of sleep and proper nutrient intake I receive as a struggling student, I was confronted with a small group of sinners.
Now, usually I'm not one to make rash judgments on perfect (or in this case, not-so-perfect,) strangers, but they certainly were wearing their sin on display for everyone to see.
I looked up as the herd of chattering girls walked by, and three of the four of them wore T-shirts with the label "Proud Griffin" across the shoulders. Even more peculiar than the fact that they were all displaying their deadly-sin with little shame, (I thought perhaps they were all a part of a school support group -the first step away from sin is usually confession, after all,) was the fact that all three of them struggled with Pride. It seems to me that usually the various forms of sin are more equally distributed among a group. If one struggles with Pride, then perhaps another is dealing with Greed, and another Gluttony. Where were the Lustful Griffins? The Envious Griffins? Surely we can't be a school entirely devoid of all sin but Pride.
I thought of encouraging the girls to reach out and to find a group with vices different than their own, (obviously we wouldn't want to be accidentally encouraging one another's offenses,) but luckily I quickly realized that perhaps it wasn't my place to make such a bold suggestion.
Still, I've been keeping my eyes open ever since this strange encounter, hoping to be encouraged by more honest students making an attempt towards Goodness.
And, of course, I've started making my very own "Slothful Griffin" T.

You could probably sell a few "Slothful Griffin" shirts. The Lustful Griffins might be more reluctant to broadcast their vice.
What is more surprising to me is that you saw a herd of Griffins at school.
They're everywhere... It's insane.
haha how very in-ter-esting. Do you think we attract others with like follies? I'm glad you talked about this. I will consider group cultivation of a particular form of interaction next time I'm observing or participating. This makes me want to reanalyse all the little social groups I've been a part of...
