Ocean II

You are Ocean, and I have not found your end.
I hesitate even to declare that I have found your beginning.
You change, and change not.
I am small, and finite at your edge.

So, go on now. Show me how it’s done:
Make your islands,
Carve your inlets.

Sure, let me plant my pillars in you.
Let me dance above you, basking in pride-
With surety, I’ll soon forget to be marveled by you at all.

But every once in a while,
When I take the time to sit beside you and contemplate all of my understanding
Please, rear your conquered head –hurl me into the deep.
And remind me,
You are Ocean, and I have not found your end.
