Story time.

Let me tell you my story.
Let me read you your past.

I used to lie in bed praying for that future unknown.
You -still ambiguous,
character to complete.

And I used to see you in strangers and familiars-
read you into other people words.
Every verse and chorus rang of you
or tried desperately not to./

Lately life has been forcefully reminding me of the importance of story -
That we speak ours individually,
and that we rewrite ours collectively when we hear the incongruences.
So, may we build our stage to act on.
And may we be a kind audience.
And may our witness bring fruitful interpretation, correction, and reconciliation
